Locallista launches in Lisbon
A new platform helps expats in Lisbon find trusted local businesses, recommended by fellow expats.
LISBON, PORTUGAL, September 2024 - Locallista today launched in Lisbon, a platform built by expats for expats to find local service providers they can trust. At launch, members can browse more than 100 categories and more than 200 businesses.
A new model for local services
Locallista introduces a model not found on any other platform in the world: a ranking of local businesses built entirely on verified reviews, with no advertising and no way to pay for a better position. Its aim is to create a new ecosystem between businesses and the people they serve, one built on mutual trust.
Every review on Locallista comes from a real client who hired the business. Members are required to review every business they hire, so a rating reflects every client, not only the few who choose to write. Reviews are published as given, good or bad. There are no ads, no sponsored listings and no paid rankings: the only way up is through the quality of the work.
A feedback loop that raises the standard
Each review goes back to the business, giving it a clear picture of what clients value and where it can improve. Over time, this feedback loop raises the level of service across the platform. Clients get better service, and businesses that deliver it get more clients.
Excellence comes first
Locallista gives priority to businesses that deliver outstanding service, and everything is reflected in their score. A business whose score falls below 8.5 out of 10 is removed from the platform. Joining is free of upfront costs: businesses pay a fair commission only on completed jobs, after they have been paid. For users, Locallista is free and available by invitation.
“Every expat in Lisbon has the same story: you arrive, something breaks, and you don’t know who to call,” said Amir Kirshenboim, founder and CEO of Locallista. “Locallista is the list we wished we had: businesses other expats trust, checked by us, and kept honest by every member who uses them. And we plan to bring it to any major city in the world that has a big expat community.”
Expats in Lisbon can request an invitation at www.locallista.com.
About Locallista
Locallista is a trusted ranking of local service businesses: plumbers, electricians, lawyers, accountants and close to 200 other categories. Businesses are vetted before they are listed and reviewed by every client they serve through the platform, almost always by phone. Only performance decides position: there are no ads and no paid placement, and a business that falls below 9 out of 10 is removed. Founded in Lisbon in 2024, Locallista is live in Lisbon, Barcelona, Madrid, Singapore and Amsterdam. It is free for users.
