Ivanna

I’ve used the service about eight times now, and it has always been excellent. He cleans all the windows, including the bathroom windows, both inside and outside, in our chalet. The glass stays spotless for a long time — up to three months without marks. He has also recommended other helpful services and is always flexible and adapts to my schedule, which is very important. He is attentive, reliable, and professional every time. Highly recommended!

I used Alejandra several times for sworn translations from Spanish into English for documents I needed to register an account for my company in Australia for a financial services transaction. She translated everything and added the apostille of the Hague, handled confidential information properly, and was very accurate and very quick. Turnaround was great; shorter documents in about 24 hours and longer ones in around 72 hours, and the price felt reasonable. We did everything over WhatsApp and email, she was introduced to me by a lawyer who uses her a lot, and I would definitely use her again.

I used Luis's real estate service around October to look for an apartment in Barcelona. The communication was good - they created a WhatsApp group and there was no issue, but I was not getting too many options and the suggestions took their time. I stopped using the service and also stopped looking because the places offered were not as my expectations. I didn't pay anything since it was commission based and I didn't buy.

Every business is screened before listing and every review is phone-verified, so the ranking reflects real expat experience, not who paid the most. Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find English-speaking professionals in Madrid?
Browse Locallista by category, plumbers, doctors, lawyers, cleaners and more, and open any listing to see the languages they speak, their reviews and how to get in touch. Everyone listed serves the English-speaking community in Madrid, so you're not guessing whether you'll be understood.
Are the providers on Locallista vetted?
Yes. Every business is screened before it's listed, and every review is collected and phone-verified by our team, so what you read comes from real customers. The ranking reflects genuine expat experience, not who paid the most.
Is Locallista free to use?
Yes. Browsing, reading reviews and contacting providers is free with a free account. Businesses pay to be listed, but that never buys a better position, the order is based purely on real, phone-verified reviews.
Do people speak English in Madrid?
In central and tourist areas, and among younger people, yes, but Madrid is a little less English-friendly day to day than you might hope, and most admin happens in Spanish. For the providers you genuinely need to understand, we list ones who speak English.
What should I sort out first when I arrive in Madrid?
Most people start with the essentials: your NIE, a Spanish bank account, somewhere to live, and registering with the local healthcare system. A good gestor takes most of the admin pain away. For everything after that, from a doctor to home repairs, you'll find English-speaking help here.
Do I really need a NIE to get set up?
Almost certainly. Your NIE is one of the first things you'll need in Spain, for renting, banking and most admin. Many people hand it to a gestor. Browse our Legal, financial & administrative category for English-speaking gestores and lawyers who can help, sometimes before you arrive.
Which cities does Locallista cover?
Right now Locallista is live in Lisbon, Barcelona and Madrid, with more cities on the way. Each one has its own vetted, English-speaking providers and reviews from that local expat community.
