I worked with Shaun for about four years in a musculoskeletal clinic at an acute hospital, and he saw quite a variety of patients, including ACL injuries, spinal op patients, people choosing conservative management, hemophilia patients, and older patients with fall risks. I had no issues with communication or quality of service, and I could trust him with quite a lot of projects. He also took on more leadership roles as a team leader for a selected group of juniors. As a clinician there were things he still improved on, but he is well aware in terms of growth and clinical reasoning.

I’ve been with them for about 6 months and I’m still with them. So far all good, it’s been a good experience, a mix of physiotherapy and personal training. My coach is very professional, and I would recommend them to family and friends. I do think it’s a bit on the pricey side, but overall I’m happy with them.

I was referred here by an orthopedic specialist and wanted a nearby clinic, and so far after two appointments it has been good. Zhi has been very approachable with my questions and queries, and with the consultation and explaining my condition, he has been caring and professional. I think he will help me regarding the pain I’m having. The only thing is I feel it is a bit overpriced for a 45 minute session, but I would still recommend him for sure.

At client's home

How much does home physiotherapy cost in Singapore?

Home visits are S$280 to S$400 a session, roughly double a clinic appointment, and the gap is travel time rather than a better therapist. It is worth it for people who genuinely cannot travel: after surgery, after a stroke, or for an older person for whom getting to a clinic is the hardest part of the day. It is also the right call when the point is to practise moving safely in your own flat, since stairs, a particular bathroom and the actual furniture cannot be simulated in a clinic. What you give up is equipment, so a rehab plan needing machines will still want clinic visits.

At clinic / studio

How much does a physiotherapy clinic session cost in Singapore?

Most private clinics charge S$150 to S$220 a session, or S$220 to S$350 in the CBD and at specialist practices. Seeing a more senior physiotherapist is usually a top-up rather than a different rate, commonly around S$60. Before booking, ask what is included: some clinics bill separately for dry needling, ultrasound or heat therapy, which adds S$20 to S$50 a visit, so a slightly higher all-inclusive fee is often the better value. No referral is needed to see a physiotherapist privately in Singapore, so you can book directly rather than going through a GP first.

Online consultation

How much does an online physiotherapy consultation cost in Singapore?

Teleconsultation is cheaper than an in person visit, generally well below the S$150 to S$220 a clinic session costs, and clinics price it individually rather than to a standard. It works for what physiotherapy actually spends most of its time on, which is checking your exercise technique, progressing a programme and answering questions between visits. It does not work for the hands-on part, and a first assessment is usually better done in person so the therapist can move the joint themselves. A sensible pattern is an in person assessment followed by online reviews, which keeps the cost down without losing much.

Geriatric physiotherapy

How much does physiotherapy for older adults cost in Singapore?

Clinic sessions are S$150 to S$220 and home visits S$280 to S$400, with the home option often the practical one. Look at the subsidised and community routes first: polyclinics charge S$14 to S$45 for eligible patients, and community care providers run rehabilitation and day rehabilitation programmes at subsidised rates for citizens and permanent residents, which is a much better arrangement for the sustained twice-weekly work that balance and strength actually need. The goal here is usually staying independent and not falling, which is worth more than any single treatment, and it needs consistency rather than intensity.

Orthopedic rehabilitation

How much does orthopaedic rehabilitation cost in Singapore?

Standard private rates apply, S$150 to S$220 a session and S$220 to S$350 at specialist clinics, and this is work measured in months rather than visits. That makes the subsidised routes worth serious thought: a polyclinic at S$14 to S$45 or a public hospital at S$45 to S$90 adds up very differently over a twenty session course. Check your insurance too, since rehabilitation following surgery is more often covered than general physiotherapy, particularly where there is a specialist referral. Ask at the outset how many sessions the plan expects and what milestones should be met by when.

Pelvic floor / women's health

How much does pelvic floor physiotherapy cost in Singapore?

This is a specialisation, so expect S$180 to S$350 a session at a private clinic, above the general rate and with fewer practitioners to choose from. Public hospitals run women's health physiotherapy at subsidised rates of S$45 to S$90 for eligible patients, usually by referral from an obstetrician or gynaecologist. It is genuinely effective for postnatal recovery, incontinence and pelvic pain, and it is under-used in Singapore largely because people do not know it exists. Sessions are private and one to one, and a good practitioner will explain what an internal assessment involves and get your consent before anything.

Sports physiotherapy

How much does sports physiotherapy cost in Singapore?

Sports work sits at the higher end of private rates, S$180 to S$350 a session, because it tends to be at specialist clinics with more senior therapists. Rehabilitation and return to sport work often continues past the treatment phase into supervised training, which clinics price separately at around S$142 to S$164 an hour, or S$164 for one to one private sessions. That is the part people stop too early. Getting out of pain takes a few weeks, getting back to full load safely takes longer, and the reinjury usually happens in the gap between the two.

General physiotherapy

How much does physiotherapy cost in Singapore?

A private clinic session is S$150 to S$220 for a full 45 to 60 minutes, with specialist and CBD clinics at S$220 to S$350. Published rates sit right in that band: one clinic charges S$180 before GST with a S$60 top-up to see a principal physiotherapist, another S$207.10 including GST. The subsidised routes are far cheaper, S$14 to S$45 at a polyclinic and S$45 to S$90 at a public hospital, with shorter sessions and a wait. The question that matters more than the headline fee is how many of those minutes you actually spend with the physiotherapist. A S$90 session that is 15 minutes of hands-on and 30 attached to a machine is not the bargain it looks like.

Neurological rehabilitation

How much does neurological rehabilitation cost in Singapore?

Private sessions are S$180 to S$350 given the specialisation involved, and home visits S$280 to S$400. Because neurological rehabilitation after a stroke or a brain injury runs for months and sometimes years, the public and community pathways matter more here than in any other area, at S$45 to S$90 a session subsidised, with day rehabilitation programmes available through community care providers. Start with the hospital's own rehabilitation team, use the subsidised programmes as the backbone, and add private sessions where you want more intensity than the programme provides rather than instead of it.

Pediatric physiotherapy

How much does physiotherapy for children cost in Singapore?

Private paediatric sessions run S$180 to S$350, above the general rate because it is a specialisation and sessions are structured as play rather than exercise. The main routes in Singapore are the children's hospitals and the early intervention programmes, which are subsidised for eligible families and are where most families should start, at S$45 to S$90 a session. Referrals commonly come through a paediatrician, KK Women's and Children's Hospital or the child's preschool. Expect the therapist to give you things to do at home, because with children the work between appointments does most of the job.

Dry needling

How much does dry needling cost in Singapore?

Dry needling is usually an add-on to a session rather than a standalone appointment, and clinics that charge for it separately add S$20 to S$50 a visit on top of the S$150 to S$220 session fee. Others include it. That difference is exactly why comparing headline fees between clinics is misleading, and why it is worth asking which treatments are covered before you book a course. Check the practitioner is trained in it specifically, and tell them if you are on blood thinners or have a needle phobia, since there are other ways to treat the same trigger points.

Manual / hands-on therapy

How much does manual therapy cost in Singapore?

Hands-on treatment is part of a standard session rather than an extra, so S$150 to S$220 at a private clinic. It is the reason to ask how long you actually get with the therapist, because manual therapy is the component most often reduced when a clinic runs a shorter appointment and fills the rest with machines. Related hands-on services are billed separately where a clinic offers them: sports massage is around S$130 an hour, rising to about S$150 with a senior therapist, and manual lymph drainage is similar. Those are not the same as physiotherapy and should not replace it in a treatment plan.

Post-surgery rehabilitation

How much does post-surgery physiotherapy cost in Singapore?

Sessions are S$150 to S$220 privately, or S$45 to S$90 through a public hospital, which is where most people start because rehabilitation is normally arranged as part of the surgical pathway. Home visits at S$280 to S$400 make sense for the first weeks after a hip or knee replacement, when getting to a clinic is the obstacle. Two things worth doing early: ask the surgeon what the protocol is and when each stage is allowed, since physiotherapists work to those constraints, and check whether the rehabilitation is covered by the same insurance claim as the operation, because it often is.

Frequently Asked Questions

What people want to know before hiring physiotherapists in Singapore.

What should I check before hiring physiotherapists in Singapore?
Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and a price in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check the credential yourself rather than taking it on trust.
How are prices quoted in Singapore?
Watch for prices shown with "++". That means 10% service charge and 9% GST are added on top, so a quoted S$100 is really about S$120. Ask whether a figure is nett before you compare two quotes.
Do I need a licensed professional in Singapore?
For some trades, yes, and it is not optional. Electrical work needs an EMA licensed electrical worker, plumbing that touches the public supply needs a PUB licensed plumber, and building work falls under BCA. Ask for the licence number.
What is the most important thing to know before booking?
Be clear about what you want and get the price and scope agreed up front, so there are no surprises. Reading other people's reviews is the quickest way to find someone who does the job well and turns up when they said they would.
What should I avoid when hiring physiotherapists in Singapore?
Avoid paying the full amount up front (a deposit can be fair), anyone who will not give a clear quote, and unusually cheap prices that get padded with extras later.
How do I find physiotherapists I can trust in Singapore?
Check the reviews and any credentials before you book. On Locallista the reviews are phone-verified and the ranking is based on real experience, not who paid the most.
