Dimitra is amazing, I have been going to her for yoga and yoga therapy for about four years now, usually twice a week, and I am hooked. I had done yoga in the past but had not done it for a while, and since starting with her again it has been such a good experience. What I really like is that she is not pretentious at all, she is very relaxed, and that is why I really like to go to her. She is great, and the price feels fair too.

I used Annalisa a few times for acupuncture treatment, and once for a yoga session in combination with acupuncture. I found the acupuncture sessions especially very nice and very relaxed, and she listens very well and asks questions to get to the underlying cause of complaints. It felt like a special acupuncture treatment, not just needles but with a lot more around it, relaxing music and Palo Santo to really get me into a very relaxed state. Overall, very nice, and the price felt fair.

I’ve been going to Dimitra’s yoga classes for almost 4 years now, and after trying so many yoga teachers, she’s absolutely the best in Amsterdam, hands down. I go to her classes twice a week, sometimes three times a week when it’s possible, and I’m super happy. She’s very empathetic and very accommodating in her classes, and she just makes everybody feel welcome no matter what kind of mood or personality comes to the class. Honestly, if she has a class, I’ll always go, it doesn’t matter what the weather is like.

Yoga at your home

How much does a yoga teacher coming to your home cost in Amsterdam?

Having a teacher come to you is a private lesson with travel added on top. In Amsterdam that's €75 to €110 an hour, and the home visit itself typically adds €5 to €15 over the same hour at the teacher's own space. Split it with a partner or a friend and the pair usually pays €100 to €120 together, which is the cheapest way to keep one-to-one attention. Independent teachers working without a studio start around €55 an hour.

€75 to €110 per hour
Travel added for a home visit
€5 to €15 on top
Same hour at the teacher's space

Yoga at a studio or gym

How much does yoga at a studio or gym cost in Amsterdam?

A dedicated studio and a gym that happens to run yoga are two different purchases. At an Amsterdam studio you're looking at €19 to €25 for a drop-in, €150 to €225 for a 10-class card, or €79 to €140 a month unlimited. A gym membership of €30 to €60 usually throws the yoga classes in for free, but you get fewer time slots and less specialised teaching. A multi-studio pass at €45 to €115 a month sits in between if you like to move around.

Drop-in at an Amsterdam studio
€19 to €25 per class
10-class card
€150 to €225 for 10 classes
Unlimited studio membership

Group yoga classes

How much do group yoga classes cost in Amsterdam?

Most Amsterdam studios sell the same class four ways, and the price per class falls sharply the more you commit. A drop-in is €19 to €25, a 10-class card works out at €15 to €22 a class, and an unlimited membership at €79 to €140 a month can take you down to about €6 to €13 a class if you really go three or four times a week. If you're new, start with an intro offer for €20 to €30 instead of guessing, then buy the plan that matches how often you actually turned up.

Drop-in, single class
€19 to €25 per class
New student intro offer
€20 to €30 for your first week or two
10-class card
€150 to €225, so €15 to €22 a class

Unlimited monthly membership

Online yoga sessions

How much do online yoga sessions cost in Amsterdam?

There are two different things here and they cost very different money. A live online class taught by a local Amsterdam studio is priced the same as being in the room, around €20, though it carries 21 percent BTW instead of the 9 percent charged for a class in the studio. A subscription app with a library of recorded classes is €10 to €20 a month, and paying yearly usually saves 30 to 40 percent. The catch with recorded classes is that nobody corrects you, which matters a lot if you're new.

Live online class at a local studio
about €20, same as in the room
Subscription app, monthly
€10 to €20 per month
Paying for a year up front
30% to 40% cheaper

Outdoor yoga sessions

How much do outdoor yoga sessions cost in Amsterdam?

Outdoor and paddleboard yoga in Amsterdam are summer things, sold as one-off packages rather than off your class card. Expect €25 to €35 a session, above the €19 to €25 you'd pay indoors. You're paying for a location and a seasonal set-up, not for more teaching time, so treat it as a nice occasional thing rather than the way to build a routine.

Outdoor or paddleboard class
€25 to €35 per class
Indoor drop-in, for comparison
€19 to €25 per class
How it's usually sold
A one-off package, not off a card

Private yoga lessons

How much do private yoga lessons cost in Amsterdam?

A one-to-one class in Amsterdam is €75 to €110 an hour, above the €60 to €95 you'd pay elsewhere in the Netherlands. Four of those a month comes to €300 to €400, roughly three times an unlimited studio membership, which is why most people book one every six to eight weeks alongside group classes rather than instead of them. Bring a friend and the pair pays €100 to €120 together, and an independent teacher without studio overheads starts at €55 an hour.

One to one in Amsterdam
€75 to €110 per hour
One to one elsewhere in the country
€60 to €95 per hour
At your home instead
€5 to €15 more per session
Two people sharing the hour
€100 to €120 together
Independent teacher, no studio
from €55 per hour
Four private sessions a month

Yoga workshops

How much do yoga workshops cost in Amsterdam?

A workshop is a one-off deep dive rather than a class, so it's priced as an event. A three-hour session in Amsterdam runs about €45, a full weekend workshop €75 to €175, and a day with a visiting international teacher €150 to €250. Buying a series is cheaper: eight three-hour sessions comes to €325, roughly €41 each. Worth doing once you already have a regular practice, less so before.

Three-hour session
about €45 per session
Weekend workshop
€75 to €175 in total
Per session inside a weekend
€25 to €60
Day with a visiting teacher

Yoga retreats

How much do yoga retreats cost in Amsterdam?

Retreat prices depend almost entirely on where you go and what's included, so read these as a bracket rather than a quote. A three-day retreat in the Netherlands is €450 to €700 at a simple venue and €800 to €1,250 somewhere luxurious. A week abroad starts around €800 and climbs to €2,000 to €3,000 for the fancier trips. Travel, extra activities and tips are usually on top.

Ashtanga yoga

How much does ashtanga yoga cost in Amsterdam?

Ashtanga runs a fixed sequence at a demanding pace, and studios charge for it at the normal class rate. Drop in for €19 to €25, buy ten classes for €150 to €225, or go unlimited for €79 to €140 a month. Because ashtanga rewards showing up several times a week, this is one of the styles where an unlimited plan genuinely beats a card, bringing your cost down to roughly €6 to €13 a class.

Drop-in, single class
€19 to €25 per class
10-class card
€150 to €225 for 10 classes
Unlimited monthly membership
€79 to €140 per month
Per class at four sessions a week
as low as €6

Hatha yoga

How much does hatha yoga cost in Amsterdam?

Hatha is the slower, hold-the-pose style that most teachers point beginners towards, and it costs exactly what any other class on the schedule costs. Expect €19 to €25 as a drop-in, €150 to €225 for ten classes, or €79 to €140 a month unlimited. The style doesn't move the price. Your commitment does.

Any class on the schedule
€19 to €25 drop-in
10-class card
€150 to €225 for 10 classes
Unlimited monthly membership
€79 to €140 per month
Surcharge for the hatha style
none, it's the standard rate

Hot yoga

How much does hot yoga cost in Amsterdam?

Hot yoga costs a little more than a normal class because the studio is paying to heat a room to around 40 degrees, plus ventilation and towel washing. Reckon on €2 to €4 on top of a standard drop-in, which in central Amsterdam already sits at €20 to €28. A hot-only membership tends to run 10 to 20 percent above a regular unlimited one. Budget €2 to €4 for a towel too, unless your plan includes it.

Heat surcharge on a normal class
€2 to €4 per class
Drop-in in central Amsterdam
€20 to €28 per class
Hot-only monthly membership
10% to 20% above a normal one
Regular unlimited membership
€79 to €140 per month
Towel hire
€2 to €4, sometimes included

Iyengar yoga

How much does Iyengar yoga cost in Amsterdam?

Iyengar is the precise, prop-heavy style, and the Amsterdam school teaching it prices by card size rather than by membership. A single class is €20, five are €80, ten are €150 and forty are €480, so your per-class price slides from €20 down to €12 the more you buy up front. New students get two intro classes for €20, and a structured beginners course of two classes a week runs €420 for five months. Classes last at least 75 minutes, and a one-to-one yoga therapy session is €45.

Two intro classes for new students
€20 for both, valid 8 days
Single class
€20 per class
5-class card
€80, so €16 a class
10-class card
€150, so €15 a class
40-class card
€480, so €12 a class
Beginners course, twice a week
€420 for 5 months
Yoga therapy, one to one
€45 per session

Restorative yoga

How much does restorative yoga cost in Amsterdam?

Restorative is the fully supported one, bolsters and blankets and very little effort, and studios don't charge extra for it. It's €19 to €25 to drop in, €150 to €225 for a 10-class card, or €79 to €140 a month unlimited. The props come with the room, and mat hire, when it isn't free, is €1 to €3.

Drop-in, single class
€19 to €25 per class
10-class card
€150 to €225 for 10 classes
Unlimited monthly membership
€79 to €140 per month
Mat hire if it isn't included
free to €3 per class

Vinyasa yoga

How much does vinyasa yoga cost in Amsterdam?

Vinyasa is the flowing, faster style, and it usually fills more slots on an Amsterdam schedule than anything else. That's really the only way it affects your bill: with a vinyasa class on most evenings, an unlimited membership at €79 to €140 a month pays off faster here than with a style that only runs twice a week. A drop-in is still €19 to €25 and a 10-class card €150 to €225, same as everything else in the room.

Drop-in, single class
€19 to €25 per class
10-class card
€150 to €225 for 10 classes
Unlimited monthly membership
€79 to €140 per month
Per class at three sessions a week
about €6 to €13

Yin yoga

How much does yin yoga cost in Amsterdam?

Yin is the slow one, long holds and plenty of props, and it's priced like every other class on the schedule. That means €19 to €25 to drop in, €150 to €225 for ten classes, or €79 to €140 a month unlimited. Most people pair a weekly yin with something more active rather than doing it three times a week, so a 10-class card at €15 to €22 a class often makes more sense here than a membership.

Drop-in, single class
€19 to €25 per class
10-class card, once a week
€150 to €225, so €15 to €22 a class
Limited monthly membership
€49 to €69 per month
Unlimited monthly membership
€79 to €140 per month

Kids yoga summer camps

How much do kids yoga summer camps cost in Amsterdam?

Yoga summer camps for kids aren't priced on any of the Amsterdam pages I checked, so this one really does come down to asking. What moves the number is how long the week runs, how many hours a day, the group size, and whether lunch and materials are in. As a rough anchor, an adult three-hour workshop in the city is around €45, which tells you something about what a teacher's morning goes for.

Quoted per camp, not published
What sets the price
Days, hours per day, group size
Three-hour adult workshop, as an anchor
about €45 per session

Kids yoga

How much does kids yoga cost in Amsterdam?

None of the Amsterdam price pages I checked publish a separate rate for kids yoga, so treat any figure you're quoted as that studio's own. For reference, an adult drop-in in the city is €19 to €25 and a 10-class card €150 to €225. Kids classes tend to be sold as a term or a block rather than a drop-in, so ask what a full run costs before you compare anything.

Prenatal yoga

How much does prenatal yoga cost in Amsterdam?

Prenatal classes run in smaller groups, so they sit at or just above the normal class rate of €19 to €25. The bit worth knowing is that Dutch top-up health insurance sometimes reimburses pregnancy yoga specifically, usually €50 to €150 a calendar year, as long as your teacher is on a recognised register and can issue a proper invoice. If you'd rather have the attention entirely to yourself, a private session is €75 to €110 an hour in Amsterdam.

Small-group uplift
at or just above the standard rate

Group yoga classes in Catalan

How much do group yoga classes in Catalan cost in Amsterdam?

Catalan classes aren't something Amsterdam studios advertise, and no studio here prices by language anyway. If you did find one on a schedule it would be the normal €19 to €25 drop-in, or €150 to €225 for ten classes. Realistically you'd book a Catalan-speaking teacher for a private session at €75 to €110 an hour, or €100 to €120 with a friend along.

10-class card

Group yoga classes in Dutch

How much do group yoga classes in Dutch cost in Amsterdam?

Dutch is the default, so this is simply the standard price for a class on the schedule: €19 to €25 to drop in, €150 to €225 for a 10-class card, €79 to €140 a month unlimited. Prices on Dutch studio pages already include BTW, so what you read is what you pay at the desk. And if your Dutch is still coming along, plenty of central studios run the same classes in English for the same money.

Drop-in, class taught in Dutch
€19 to €25 per class
10-class card
€150 to €225 for 10 classes
Limited monthly membership

Group yoga classes in English

How much do group yoga classes in English cost in Amsterdam?

Amsterdam is the easy case here: plenty of central studios teach in English or switch between English and Dutch depending on who's on the mat, and several studio price pages have an English version. It costs you nothing extra. A drop-in is €19 to €25, ten classes are €150 to €225, and unlimited is €79 to €140 a month, exactly as it would be in Dutch.

Drop-in, class taught in English
€19 to €25 per class

Group yoga classes in French

How much do group yoga classes in French cost in Amsterdam?

No Amsterdam studio I checked prices a class by the language it's taught in, so if you find a French-speaking class on a schedule it's the standard €19 to €25 drop-in, or €150 to €225 for ten. French group classes are genuinely rare here though. If you want one reliably, the practical route is a private teacher at €75 to €110 an hour, or €100 to €120 if two of you share the session.

Drop-in if you find one scheduled
€19 to €25 per class
10-class card
€150 to €225 for 10 classes

Group yoga classes in German

How much do group yoga classes in German cost in Amsterdam?

Studios in Amsterdam charge one price for every class on the schedule, whatever language the teacher uses, so a German-taught class is the usual €19 to €25 drop-in or €79 to €140 a month unlimited. Finding one on a public schedule is the hard part, not paying for it. A German-speaking teacher booked privately is €75 to €110 an hour, and €100 to €120 for the two of you together.

Drop-in if you find one scheduled

Unlimited monthly membership
€79 to €140 per month

Group yoga classes in Portuguese

How much do group yoga classes in Portuguese cost in Amsterdam?

Language doesn't appear anywhere in Amsterdam studio pricing, so a Portuguese-taught class costs the same as any other: €19 to €25 to drop in, €150 to €225 for a 10-class card. In practice these rarely show up on a public schedule, so most people arrange it directly with a teacher. That's private-lesson money, €75 to €110 an hour in Amsterdam, dropping to €100 to €120 in total if you go as a pair.

Drop-in if you find one scheduled
€19 to €25 per class
10-class card
€150 to €225 for 10 classes
Charged extra for Portuguese
nothing, the rate is the same
Private session in Portuguese

Group yoga classes in Spanish

How much do group yoga classes in Spanish cost in Amsterdam?

A Spanish-taught class is priced like everything else on an Amsterdam schedule, €19 to €25 as a drop-in and €79 to €140 a month for unlimited, because studios here don't charge by language. The realistic route is finding a Spanish-speaking teacher rather than a Spanish class, and booking them privately at €75 to €110 an hour. Two of you sharing brings that down to €100 to €120 for the session.

Drop-in if you find one scheduled

Frequently Asked Questions

What people want to know before hiring yoga in Amsterdam.

What should I check before hiring yoga in Amsterdam?
Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and a price in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check the credential yourself rather than taking it on trust.
Are prices in Amsterdam quoted with or without BTW?
Check, because it varies. A price quoted to a consumer should already include BTW, and most trades do show it that way, but plenty of price lists are still written excluding it. The rate is 21% on most work, though labour on a home more than two years old is taxed at 9%, and so are things like sports and fitness classes. Look for the word "inclusief" or "exclusief" next to the figure before you compare two quotes, and ask whether travel costs and parking are in there too.
How do I check a business in Amsterdam is properly registered?
Every legitimate Dutch business has a KvK number from the Chamber of Commerce, and you can look it up free in the public register. For gas, heating and electrical work there are extra schemes worth asking about, mainly SCIOS and InstallQ. A business that will not give you its KvK number is a reason to walk away.
What is the most important thing to know before booking?
Be clear about what you want and get the price and scope agreed up front, so there are no surprises. Reading other people's reviews is the quickest way to find someone who does the job well and turns up when they said they would.
What should I avoid when hiring yoga in Amsterdam?
Avoid paying the full amount up front (a deposit can be fair), anyone who will not give a clear quote, and unusually cheap prices that get padded with extras later.
How do I find yoga I can trust in Amsterdam?
Check the reviews and any credentials before you book. On Locallista the reviews are phone-verified and the ranking is based on real experience, not who paid the most.
