Yesi was incredibly helpful and very personable. She translated my FBI background check from English to Spanish, knew what needed to be translated and when, and even helped me with legal knowledge, very efficient and quick. I used her two years ago and I’m using her again this year because I know she is the best. Price could be cheaper - these things cost a lot of money in general - but it is what it is.

I’ve seen Anthony a couple of times for various issues with my back and neck, and he is just really wonderful. He listens hard, asks lots of questions to really understand, then literally resolves my issues every single time - I usually only need one session, and he even offers a quick free 10-minute check after. He gives me exercises so I get stronger and don’t have the problem again, and the relief has lasted. He’s very responsive, easy to book online, always on time, professional, and the price felt fair.

I did 3 one-on-one sessions a few years ago when I was going through a hard time with my son, and more recently a group art therapy session with my book club. We did different art therapy exercises like drawing things out, reworking them in the next sessions, a lot of writing, plus some talking and a lot of me with myself reflecting. She sets a really calm, non-judging atmosphere where everyone feels safe and has space to express themselves, and if you want her to say something she does, otherwise she lets you discover it by yourself. The sessions were revealing and I came to interesting conclusions, I feel better now, and I would totally recommend her - price felt fair, I just can’t afford constant sessions right now.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there English-speaking mechanics in Barcelona?
Yes. Plenty of garages in and around Barcelona are used to working with expats, and many have at least one mechanic who speaks English. The hard part is knowing which ones before you hand over your keys, so every garage we list is reviewed by other expats who've actually used them.
How do I find a mechanic I can trust here?
Word of mouth is everything in a new city. Ask in expat groups, then check the reviews before you book. On Locallista the reviews are phone-verified, so you're reading real experiences, and you can see which garages are comfortable in English.
What is the ITV car inspection and do I need it?
The ITV is Spain's mandatory roadworthiness test. Cars usually need their first one at four years old and then every couple of years after, and it's a quick, low-cost check. Many garages will book it and take the car for you.
Can someone work on my motorbike, not just my car?
Yes. Several specialists in Barcelona handle motorbikes and scooters as well as cars. Filter by what you need and check the reviews to find someone who knows your type of bike.
Will a mechanic give me a quote before starting?
A good one will, and it's completely normal to ask. If there's a language gap, ask them to write the estimate down. The pros we list are used to explaining the job to international customers.
