I did a hypnosis session and EMDR therapy over multiple sessions, and I loved it. I contacted the therapist, she was reactive and got me an appointment a week after I reached out, and she showed flexibility with my schedule. We started with hypnosis, she took the time to explain the method and guide me through it, and the place where she practices is very cozy. EMDR is different than hypnosis, it started in the 60s and 70s and uses movement of the eye to solve deeper trauma from a painful past event, it was very effective for me and worth the price, and I felt a lot of relief.

I met Audrey years ago and have been going back since. She’s a chiropractor who fixes the body based on the spine and also helps unlock the emotional part, which together has been really helpful for my health condition. Her space is super welcoming, feels like a second home, she’s kind and always explains what she’s doing, keeps learning new methods, and I can book online with her assistant often finding me a last-minute slot, though sometimes there’s a slight delay. Price feels fair for the results."

I’m working with Patricia y Mercè at MPC to set up and run my freelance autónomo, and also for my taxes. We started in December and began working together in January; I sent them the documents, and I’m already freelancing. After the first meeting, most of our communication has been via WhatsApp, which works perfectly for me.
Their website mentioned that they offer service in English, but our meetings were in Spanish. This wasn’t a problem for me, while it was a bit challenging at times, my partner, who is Spanish, joined the meetings, which helped. In the end, it all worked out smoothly, and I appreciate how accommodating they were. It was more a minor difference between what was advertised and the reality, but certainly not an issue for me. They are very accessible, always answer my questions quickly, and overall, I feel I got a very good price compared to other services I looked into.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are there English-speaking handymen and tradespeople in Barcelona?
Yes, and demand from the expat community means more tradespeople now say up front that they speak English. We list plumbers, electricians, cleaners and handymen reviewed by other expats, so you're not guessing.
How do I find a reliable handyman quickly?
For non-emergencies, browse by the job and read recent reviews. For urgent problems like a leak, look for someone who offers fast or emergency callouts. Phone-verified reviews help you avoid the no-shows.
How do I explain a repair if my Spanish is limited?
A photo or short video of the problem does most of the work, and many tradespeople here are used to international clients. Booking an English-speaking pro takes the stress out of it entirely.
Will I get a quote before the work starts?
You should. It's normal to ask for an estimate and what the callout costs before anyone starts, and good tradespeople are happy to put it in writing.
Can I book regular help, like weekly cleaning?
Yes, many cleaners and home-service providers offer regular weekly or fortnightly slots, usually at a better rate than one-offs. Look for it in their listing or just ask.
