Barcelona, Sep 2026
I hired Santiago and his team in Barcelona to hang shelves and picture frames, assemble a new bed, replace a faulty tap and fix a toilet flusher. They were professional, polite and completed a number of jobs for us to a high quality, communication was great and he came prepared with the appropriate tools and materials. Santiago took the time to do all jobs with care and left no mess, I highly recommend him.

Barcelona, Aug 2026
I hired Dominik to check out a short circuit that happened, see if the electric connections were alright, and change the lights that were affected. He came with another person, they did the job, and he was very professional. When I asked questions, he responded very clearly and explained things well. It was a good experience, he fixed the problem, and the price felt a bit on the high end but he is a very skilled person.

Barcelona, Nov 2025
Nathan installed a second wall to reinforce an old wall in our studio. He came first to see what had to be done and talk to me, ordered everything, then did the install in one day. It was very quick, great communication, professional invoice, very easy, and he cleaned everything up - he even had his own vacuum. He arrived about two hours later than planned because of a rental car but he told me, and while the price is higher than others it matches the quality, so I’m continuing with him for more things.

Frequently Asked Questions
What expats want to know before hiring handymen in Barcelona.
Are there English-speaking handymen in Barcelona?
Yes, and more do as the expat community grows. The hard part is knowing who is reliable before you book, so every one we list is reviewed by other expats who have actually used them.
What should I check before hiring handymen in Barcelona?
Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and an estimate in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check they hold the right credentials for the job.
What is the most important thing to know before booking?
Be clear about what you want and get the price and scope agreed up front, so there are no surprises. Reading other expats' reviews is the quickest way to find someone who does the job well and communicates clearly.
What should I avoid when hiring handymen in Barcelona?
Avoid paying the full amount up front (a deposit can be fair), anyone who will not give a clear quote, and unusually cheap prices that get padded with extras later.
How do I explain what I need if my Spanish is limited?
A photo, a short video or a written list does most of the talking, and the professionals we list are used to international clients. Booking an English-speaking one takes the stress out of it entirely.
How do you say handymen in Spanish?
In Spanish, handymen are usually called manitas. That is the word to search for or to ask a neighbour, though many professionals here are used to the English term too.
How do I find handymen I can trust in Barcelona?
Check the reviews and any credentials before you book. On Locallista the reviews are phone-verified and the ranking is based on real expat experience, not who paid the most.
