Veronica
Barcelona, Oct 2025
I moved to a new place and needed a new bed, and since I don’t have a car they picked it up from Maison du Monde, brought it home, assembled it, and took all the packaging. It was a one-day thing with two very fast guys who were super kind and left everything super clean, even taking the boxes. I could try the bed right there - not jumping - just checking it was well installed, and I felt comfortable the whole time. Communication was perfect, they explained everything clearly and we understood each other perfectly, and the price felt worth it.

I used Ana for a moving service and it was very good. She was responsive, the delivery truck came on time, and they delivered the boxes correctly. Everything was good and I was overall happy with the service.

Barcelona , Oct 2025
I was recommended Liron by another family and called him this summer. His team came fast to my house and did handyman work on three occasions, then moved a couple of beds and a few things from one apartment to my place. It was always seriousness, fast and reasonable prices compared with others. He is more straightforward than super polite, but it was fine and I’d use him again.

Frequently Asked Questions
What expats want to know before hiring movers in Barcelona.
Are there English-speaking movers in Barcelona?
Yes, and more do as the expat community grows. The hard part is knowing who is reliable before you book, so every one we list is reviewed by other expats who have actually used them.
What should I check before hiring movers in Barcelona?
Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and an estimate in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check they hold the right credentials for the job.
What is the most important thing to know before booking?
Be clear about what you want and get the price and scope agreed up front, so there are no surprises. Reading other expats' reviews is the quickest way to find someone who does the job well and communicates clearly.
What should I avoid when hiring movers in Barcelona?
Avoid paying the full amount up front (a deposit can be fair), anyone who will not give a clear quote, and unusually cheap prices that get padded with extras later.
How do I explain what I need if my Spanish is limited?
A photo, a short video or a written list does most of the talking, and the professionals we list are used to international clients. Booking an English-speaking one takes the stress out of it entirely.
How do you say movers in Spanish?
In Spanish, movers are usually called empresas de mudanzas. That is the word to search for or to ask a neighbour, though many professionals here are used to the English term too.
How do I find movers I can trust in Barcelona?
Check the reviews and any credentials before you book. On Locallista the reviews are phone-verified and the ranking is based on real expat experience, not who paid the most.

Dos and Don’ts as an expat
Smart choices: dos and don’ts for hiring reliable movers
Do’s
Do Research Providers' Reliability and Punctuality
Select a moving company known for its reliability and punctuality. Clients regularly commend movers who arrive on time, as it sets a positive tone for the entire moving process and enables better planning for your day.
Do Evaluate Communication Practices
Look for moving services that emphasize clear and effective communication. Customers highlight companies that respond promptly and keep clients informed throughout the process, which reduces stress and ensures all details are handled smoothly.
Do Review Care in Handling Belongings
Choose movers who are recognized for their meticulousness and care in handling items. Positive reviews consistently mention movers who take extra steps to safeguard belongings from damage, such as wrapping delicate items and being attentive to detail.
Do Consider Flexibility with Changing Plans
It's important to hire movers who show flexibility regarding scheduling and can adapt to last-minute changes. Positive experiences reveal that companies willing to accommodate shifts in plans create a much smoother and less stressful moving experience.
Dont’s
Don't Hire Movers Without Confirming Their Communication Skills
Ensure your chosen moving service has effective communication channels. Poor communication can lead to misunderstandings regarding timing, pricing, and service details, potentially impacting the smoothness of your move and causing unnecessary stress.
Don't Overlook Online Reviews and Recommendations
Before selecting a moving company, take the time to check reviews and gather recommendations from friends or family. Failing to do so may lead to hiring unreliable movers, which can result in damaged belongings or disappointing service experiences.
Don't Ignore the Importance of Transparency in Pricing
Make sure the moving company you hire provides clear and transparent pricing without hidden fees. Ambiguous pricing structures can lead to unexpected costs during or after the move, leaving you with an unpleasant financial surprise.
Don't Rely on Last-Minute Changes Without Confirmation
If you anticipate needing to change your moving date or other arrangements, confirm with the movers that they can accommodate these changes. Not doing so may result in scheduling conflicts or unavailability, disrupting your moving plans.
