I had a phenomenal experience with Julie on a one-day professional shooting for my work and my artistic image as a DJ. Before the shoot we worked on my style and what I wanted to say through the images, I made a Pinterest page with inspirations, clothes and colors, and she created a fashion mood board, even came to my place to look at my closet, jewelry and accessories, and suggested buying a specific t-shirt and some very original shoes. On the day she coordinated everything with the studio, photographer, make-up and hair, made me feel confident, and afterwards I got lots of photos that I used on my social media, I was very proud of the result and I learned a lot. Communication was super easy on WhatsApp, everything was on time, and the price felt very fair.

I had a colorimetry and makeup session with her, and I was honestly very impressed with the whole experience. She started by explaining the theory behind colorimetry, using an assessment to show how different colors reflect on the skin. She explained everything in a very clear and simple way, which made it easy to understand and follow. In the second part, she helped me find makeup that matched my personal colorimetry. It was very well done and I still use the makeup she recommended today, it even changed the way I see and choose my clothes.
What I really appreciated is how much she takes your feelings and insecurities into account. She adapts her approach to each person and makes sure you feel comfortable throughout the session. She was very responsive to messages, I only had to wait a few minutes before my appointment, and even though I ended up staying longer than the original session time, she didn’t charge anything extra. Overall, I’m very happy with the service she provided and I would absolutely recommend her.

I hired Julie for personal image counseling in French, and in one session she asked me a lot of questions about my lifestyle, personality, habits and needs, then walked me through four big types to find my major and my minor and built a style from that. She sent me a lookbook about 25-30 pages with different types of looks for the different seasons and shapes, plus hairstyles, accessories and bags fitting my taste and my lifestyle. I live in the city, I walk a lot so I don’t wear high heels. I also did the personal shopping and she basically pre-shopped for me, sending an Excel sheet with a lot of links to shops so I could shop online or go in person; I skipped the colorimetry because it was a bit more expensive, though she still gave me tips on colors for my skin and eyes. The results maybe went beyond my expectations because when I saw the clothes on me it really fits, and I keep going back to the lookbook every change of season to check what I am supposed to wear.

Frequently Asked Questions
What expats want to know before hiring stylists in Madrid.
Are there English-speaking stylists in Madrid?
Yes, and more do as the expat community grows. The hard part is knowing who is reliable before you book, so every one we list is reviewed by other expats who have actually used them.
What should I check before hiring stylists in Madrid?
Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and an estimate in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check they hold the right credentials for the job.
What is the most important thing to know before booking?
Be clear about what you want and get the price and scope agreed up front, so there are no surprises. Reading other expats' reviews is the quickest way to find someone who does the job well and communicates clearly.
What should I avoid when hiring stylists in Madrid?
Avoid paying the full amount up front (a deposit can be fair), anyone who will not give a clear quote, and unusually cheap prices that get padded with extras later.
How do I explain what I need if my Spanish is limited?
A photo, a short video or a written list does most of the talking, and the professionals we list are used to international clients. Booking an English-speaking one takes the stress out of it entirely.
How do you say stylists in Spanish?
In Spanish, stylists are usually called asesores de imagen. That is the word to search for or to ask a neighbour, though many professionals here are used to the English term too.
How do I find stylists I can trust in Madrid?
Check the reviews and any credentials before you book. On Locallista the reviews are phone-verified and the ranking is based on real expat experience, not who paid the most.
