Victor

Madrid, Feb 2026

I hired them to help me look for properties in Madrid. We had a meeting about our situation and they put together a spreadsheet based on our background, sent listings, came with us to the appointments, translated for us, helped ask questions, and we saw about 7 or 8 places over 2 months before finding the one. They submitted our profile, negotiated everything, put the legal documents together and did all the contracts, basically processed it end to end, and it was very smooth so I didn't have to do anything. I would definitely hire them again, price was ok, they charge based on rent. They are very professional.

Maria

Bogota, Mar 2026

I heard about Pedro through a friend and wanted to make an investment in Spain, and he explained everything - found a property within our budget, assessed it, told me how much it could earn, and handled all the paperwork and checked for hidden debts. He helped negotiate the price, handled the bank account stuff and the anti-money laundering checks. Since we couldn’t travel we gave him a power of attorney to sign the deed and he sent the nota simple and copies right away. He did videocalls to show us places since we had never been to Valencia, then he found a tenant and manages the property. He also recommended a great accountant for the taxes. Communication was great despite the time difference, price felt cheap, and honestly I have no complaints - I could not be happier with how it all went.

Maria Teresa

Dominican Republic, Mar 2026

My experience with Estela was extraordinary. I was in the Dominican Republic helping my brother who was moving to Spain, and she handled the apartment search remotely - we did a video call, she sent a detailed video after, opened a group chat with the property broker, and even got the keys sorted. She really listened and was very empathetic and procedural, making sure the place had a metro line and transport nearby, a supermarket close, and that it wasn’t too expensive. She took away all of the anxiety we had about this transition and handled every step with calm and ease. We didn’t have a name in Spain others brushed us off, but she stuck with us until everything was done, and she nailed it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What expats want to know before hiring real estate agents in Madrid.

Are there English-speaking real estate agents in Madrid?
Yes, and more do as the expat community grows. The hard part is knowing who is reliable before you book, so every one we list is reviewed by other expats who have actually used them.
What should I check before hiring real estate agents in Madrid?
Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and an estimate in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check they hold the right credentials for the job.
Should the estate agent be licensed in Madrid?
Yes, and it protects you. In Spain, use a registered agent (ask for their API or local register number). Ask for it before signing anything, especially with the contracts in the local language.
What should I avoid when hiring real estate agents in Madrid?
Avoid paying the full amount up front (a deposit can be fair), anyone who will not give a clear quote, and unusually cheap prices that get padded with extras later. And never use someone who cannot show the right certification.
How do I explain what I need if my Spanish is limited?
A photo, a short video or a written list does most of the talking, and the professionals we list are used to international clients. Booking an English-speaking one takes the stress out of it entirely.
How do you say real estate agents in Spanish?
In Spanish, real estate agents are usually called agentes inmobiliarios. That is the word to search for or to ask a neighbour, though many professionals here are used to the English term too.
How do I find real estate agents I can trust in Madrid?
Check the reviews and any credentials before you book. On Locallista the reviews are phone-verified and the ranking is based on real expat experience, not who paid the most.

Choosing a real estate agent who doesn't take the time to understand your specific needs can lead to a frustrating experience. Look for someone who prioritizes personal connection and pays attention to your unique requirements.
Don't Ignore Communication Style
Working with an agent who lacks clear and prompt communication can complicate the process. Ensure your chosen agent is known for being responsive and keeping you informed throughout each step of your real estate journey.
Don't Overlook Local Knowledge
Opting for an agent without deep knowledge of the area can hinder your search and decisions. It's critical to hire someone who is familiar with local property values, neighborhoods, and market trends to ensure you get the best advice.

Selecting a real estate agent who lacks documented success can jeopardize your buying or selling experience. Look for testimonials or reviews that demonstrate their ability to navigate transactions effectively and achieve positive results.
