Madrid on Feb 2026

I wanted to do a deep dive into the wines of the area, and Christopher took me to several places to try different wines. He shared info about where we were and how it related to what we were drinking, and he knew the people in the shops so we had great conversations about how they got started. They answered all my questions, and was open to whatever he suggested and it all worked out really well. The price was better than I expected!

I had an absolutely fantastic time with Cristina on an amazing Hemingway tour. Her knowledge was incredible and she went above and beyond of the tour, taking me to various bars. I super loved it and fell in love with Madrid, and I moved to Madrid. She was professional, knowledgeable, and she is highly recommendable.

I’m interested in natural wines and asked Christopher to take us to cafes, and it was a very nice evening. He told us a lot about the wine and how it’s produced, answered our questions about the varieties, food and snacks, and let us choose what we wanted to eat and drink. He knew the owners so the treatment was very open and friendly, and he adapted the tour to our group in a fluid way without staying too long in one place. Communication was easy in English and the price felt fair, and now it feels like we can come back and already know the places.

Frequently Asked Questions

What expats want to know before hiring tour guides in Madrid.

Are there English-speaking tour guides in Madrid?
Yes, and more do as the expat community grows. The hard part is knowing who is reliable before you book, so every one we list is reviewed by other expats who have actually used them.
What should I check before hiring tour guides in Madrid?
Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and an estimate in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check they hold the right credentials for the job.
What is the most important thing to know before booking?
Be clear about what you want and get the price and scope agreed up front, so there are no surprises. Reading other expats' reviews is the quickest way to find someone who does the job well and communicates clearly.
What should I avoid when hiring tour guides in Madrid?
Avoid paying the full amount up front (a deposit can be fair), anyone who will not give a clear quote, and unusually cheap prices that get padded with extras later.
How do I explain what I need if my Spanish is limited?
A photo, a short video or a written list does most of the talking, and the professionals we list are used to international clients. Booking an English-speaking one takes the stress out of it entirely.
How do you say tour guides in Spanish?
In Spanish, tour guides are usually called guias turisticos. That is the word to search for or to ask a neighbour, though many professionals here are used to the English term too.
How do I find tour guides I can trust in Madrid?
Check the reviews and any credentials before you book. On Locallista the reviews are phone-verified and the ranking is based on real expat experience, not who paid the most.
