I had Oleksandr come to my place in Cascais to sort out the washing machine drain that was flooding, and he found the problem quickly, went to the shop for a new piece, came back, and fixed it. While he was here I also asked him to assemble an IKEA-style bed frame and he did that too, all in one go. He was very helpful and solved the problems, though he doesn’t always answer for a few days and he didn’t tell me his rates before coming; price felt a bit on the expensive side but the quality was good, and he didn’t charge extra for driving to get the part. I still need to test the drain and the bed, but he said he’d come back free of charge if there’s any problem, so I’d happily use him again.

Oleksandr communicated well beforehand and arrived on time to address the strong smell under the sink. He made efforts to find the cause of the issue, but unfortunately, the problem wasn't fixed. The service was of average quality, and the cost felt a bit high for what was done.

Oleksandr did an excellent job. He came here, noticed the small repairs we needed at home, and it was all very good. He was able to help us solve the problem, he explained everything, and everything is done. The initial appointment was cancelled because of an unforeseen event, but it is ok, it happens. The price felt fair and I was satisfied, overall.
Frequently Asked Questions
What expats want to know before hiring dishwasher technicians in Lisbon.
Are there English-speaking dishwasher technicians in Lisbon?
Yes, and more do as the expat community grows. The hard part is knowing who is reliable before you book, so every one we list is reviewed by other expats who have actually used them.
What should I check before hiring dishwasher technicians in Lisbon?
Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and an estimate in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check they hold the right credentials for the job.
What is the most important thing to know before booking?
Be clear about what you want and get the price and scope agreed up front, so there are no surprises. Reading other expats' reviews is the quickest way to find someone who does the job well and communicates clearly.
What should I avoid when hiring dishwasher technicians in Lisbon?
Avoid paying the full amount up front (a deposit can be fair), anyone who will not give a clear quote, and unusually cheap prices that get padded with extras later.
How do I explain what I need if my Portuguese is limited?
A photo, a short video or a written list does most of the talking, and the professionals we list are used to international clients. Booking an English-speaking one takes the stress out of it entirely.
How do you say dishwasher technicians in Portuguese?
In Portuguese, dishwasher technicians are usually called tecnicos de maquinas de loica. That is the word to search for or to ask a neighbour, though many professionals here are used to the English term too.
How do I find dishwasher technicians I can trust in Lisbon?
Check the reviews and any credentials before you book. On Locallista the reviews are phone-verified and the ranking is based on real expat experience, not who paid the most.

Dos and Don’ts as an expat
Essential dos and don'ts for finding the best dishwasher technician for your home
Do’s
Do Verify Their Credentials and Experience
Before hiring a dishwasher technician, confirm their qualifications, certifications, and years of experience in the field. Technicians with extensive experience are more likely to efficiently diagnose and resolve complex issues, ultimately saving you time and money.
Do Read Customer Reviews and Testimonials
Take the time to read through customer reviews and testimonials about the technician's services. Look for consistent positive feedback regarding their reliability, skill level, and customer service. This will give you a better idea of what to expect from their work.
Do Inquire About Warranty and Service Guarantees
Ensure that the technician offers warranties or service guarantees on their work and parts used. A reputable technician should be willing to stand behind their services, which provides you with peace of mind and protection against future issues.
Do Ask for Detailed Estimates Before Work Begins
Request a detailed estimate that outlines labor, parts, and any additional charges before the service begins. This transparency helps prevent unexpected costs later and ensures you understand all expenses involved in the service being provided.
Dont’s
Don't Hire Without Checking Qualifications
Ensure that any dishwasher technician you consider has the proper certifications and training. Hiring unqualified personnel can lead to botched repairs, ineffective service, and ultimately more expensive and extensive problems down the line.
Don't Neglect to Read Customer Reviews
Avoid selecting a technician solely based on advertising or referrals. Take the time to read customer reviews to gauge their reliability, quality of service, and common issues faced by previous clients to avoid unpleasant surprises.
Don't Overlook Warranty and Insurance Coverage
Before hiring a technician, confirm that they are insured and offer warranties on their work. Without this protection, you run the risk of being liable for damages or needing to pay for follow-up repairs out of pocket, negating any initial savings.
Don't Rely on Incomplete Estimates
Be cautious of technicians who provide vague or incomplete estimates. Always request a detailed breakdown of costs and services to avoid hidden fees and ensure that you fully understand what you are paying for before any work begins.
