We had a fire at home in the living room and needed to switch the electric system and the electrical board, and David fixed the problem. He was really quick doing the job, sent the budget fast for the insurance company, and his electrical team fixed everything in two days. They arrived on time, left the place clean, and it was an impeccable job. I would hire him again if I need to and I will recommend him to my friends.

I hired Tomas to fix a leaking rooftop terrace. We couldn’t find the source, so we’re re-flooring and waterproofing the whole upstairs deck, enclosing part of it, and adding a retractable pergola. The project is still underway, but communication has been great, an engineer comes by to oversee, and the crew is here every day, responsive and really nice, so I feel like we’re in good hands, though I don’t want to jinx it. It’s a big job and a bit expensive, but so far so good.

Matt did the second floor floor insulation and a roof leak repair for me, and the process was not smooth. For the floor insulation, he did not provide enough material for the area even though the fee included materials, so I had to buy extra material myself and do it by myself. For the roof, he had to come back again and again, and at first he denied responsibility and even said he was not a professional in roof repairing, but after arguing he finally came back and fixed it. So far the roof has no big problem, but I would not recommend him because I felt like I was being fooled around.

Dos and Don’ts as an expat

Key dos and don’ts for selecting the ideal waterproofing service

Do Prioritize Clear Communication Skills
Choose a waterproofing service provider who demonstrates clear and regular communication throughout the project. This ensures you are always updated on progress and any necessary adjustments, fostering trust and collaboration.
Do Consider Flexibility in Project Planning
Select a provider who is willing to adapt to changing circumstances and unexpected issues during the project. Their ability to maintain professionalism and flexibility is key to successfully navigating complex waterproofing challenges.

Choose a service provider known for punctuality and timely completion of projects. Efficient service not only saves you time but also provides a valuable return on investment, justifying the costs associated with waterproofing.
Dont’s
Don't Skip Background Checks on Service Providers
Failing to research the background and reputation of waterproofing contractors can lead to hiring unqualified workers who may not deliver quality results. Always check reviews, references, and previous projects to ensure their capability in handling complex waterproofing tasks.
Don't Ignore Communication Skills
Choosing a contractor who does not communicate effectively can result in misunderstandings and unsatisfactory outcomes. It's crucial to ensure that your service provider keeps you informed and is receptive to your concerns throughout the project, facilitating a smoother workflow.
Don't Assume All Providers Maintain Clean Job Sites
Overlooking the cleanliness and organization of a contractor's job site could lead to additional mess and issues at the end of a project. Ensure that maintenance of a tidy work area is part of the agreement, as this reflects their professionalism and care for your space.
Don't Neglect to Discuss Pricing Transparency
Hiring a service provider without discussing the pricing structure upfront can lead to unexpected costs and financial surprises down the line. Always ask for a detailed breakdown of costs and potential additional charges to avoid confusion and ensure a fair deal.
