Tomo

Lisbon, Oct 2025

I had a regular cleaning for my 120 square meter apartment and it was perfect. Two people came, super fast and professional, took about five hours, moved furniture and cleaned behind, started with my office so we could work, wrapped that in like 30 minutes, and we didn’t even hear them while they kept going. They were extremely careful and really, really polite, nothing damaged, and the whole thing exceeded my expectations; I’m already thinking of calling them back to clean the windows, plus they sent me a message about 20% off next time. The price felt on the higher end but we got what we paid for.

I hired Serene for laundry in April, mainly sheets and blankets, like the bigger stuff. Communication was great, and the service was great - everything came back clean and neat. The price was agreed on beforehand, but I was surprised at how much it came to, a bit pricey for what I had. Overall, a great experience and I’d use it again.

Having tried to do it myself I wasn't sure how they would manage. The 7th floor balcony was hard to do but they did it, the windows and glass on the balcony looked great. I'm very happy with the result.

Dos and Don’ts as an expat

The ultimate guide: dos and don’ts for selecting the best laundry services for your needs

Do’s
Do Seek Experienced Providers for Delicate Garments
When entrusting your delicate and special garments to a laundry service, choose providers with a proven track record of handling high-end fabrics and intricate repairs. Look for reviews that highlight their skill in managing challenging tasks effectively.
Do Utilize Services with Reliable Communication
Select laundry services that prioritize clear and consistent communication. This includes providing precise pickup and delivery times, allowing you to stay informed about your garments' status and ensuring a hassle-free experience.
Do Consider Services Offering High-Quality Results
Opt for laundry providers that have a reputation for impeccable cleaning results, as indicated by customer reviews. Quality output often justifies a slightly higher price, especially for garments that require special care or handling.
Do Look for Convenient Services with Technology Integration
Choose laundry services that offer user-friendly technology, such as apps for tracking orders. This enhances convenience by allowing you to monitor your service from pickup to delivery, ensuring a seamless experience for busy customers.
Dont’s
Don't Trust Your Delicate Garments to Just Any Service Provider
Many laundry services may not have the expertise to handle delicate or high-end items safely. It's essential to choose a provider that is experienced in cleaning and repairing special garments to avoid damage.
Don't Ignore Customer Service and Communication
A laundry service that lacks clear communication can lead to missed timelines or dissatisfaction with results. Look for reviews highlighting responsiveness and clarity in updates to ensure a smooth experience.
Don't Settle for Average Quality
If a laundry service seems to offer average prices, be cautious. Quality often comes at a price, and choosing a budget option might compromise the cleanliness and care of your garments, especially delicate ones.
Don't Overlook the Importance of Timeliness
Timely service is crucial in laundry operations. Providers that fail to meet promised return dates can disrupt your plans and lead to frustration; prioritize providers with a consistent track record of punctuality.
