I booked Thiago for a complete deep cleaning of the house on very short notice, and he got a team in the next day. They cleaned it spotless and went above and beyond what I expected, even organising everything in the house without me asking. Communication was easy, and the price felt fair. I’d use him again for sure - it was really, really good and honestly amazing.

Inesa and her team did a really good overall cleaning; they moved my bed frame and the couch to get behind places, which I haven’t had a cleaner do before and I was impressed. There was a mix-up with the original date and they didn’t come, but she was very apologetic and rescheduled me easily. They brought their own products, and my bathrooms didn’t smell disinfected and some baseboards were missed in spots, so I would have preferred they used mine and been a bit more thorough on the tiny things. Price felt fair and I’m planning to book them again.

We found Paula after living in our home for four years and finally deciding that we needed professional help to organize our spaces. Paula has been a pleasure to work with and was patient with us throughout the process. All things are finding a place and the house feels more comfortable as such.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does a professional home organiser in Lisbon do?
Professional home organisers help you declutter, plan space and set up practical storage systems tailored to Lisbon apartments and rental constraints. Typical services include wardrobe edits, kitchen and pantry optimisation, home office setups, and unpacking after a move. They create sustainable routines so your home stays tidy long after the session.
How much does a home organiser cost in Lisbon?
Rates vary by experience, scope and session length, but many Lisbon organisers charge roughly €20, €40 per hour, with day rates from about €150, €300+. Prices are set by each service provider, agreed and paid directly with them, and are not listed on Locallista. Ask about packages after an initial assessment.
Do Lisbon home organisers speak English?
Yes. Lisbon has a strong expat community, and many professional organisers work in English and other languages. Confirm language preferences in advance and agree your preferred communication channel, WhatsApp, phone or email, so instructions, measurements and purchasing lists are clear throughout the project.
How do I vet the quality of a home organiser in Lisbon?
Check recent reviews, before‑and‑after photos and client references, and ask about their approach to categorising, decision‑making and maintenance. Ensure you receive a clear scope, timeline and cancellation policy in writing. A short call can confirm chemistry, English fluency and whether their methods fit your household.
How long does a typical home organising project take?
Many organisers work in 4, 6 hour sessions. A one‑bedroom flat might need 1, 2 days, while a family home can take 2, 4+ days, depending on volume, decision speed and whether shopping or installations are required. Complex moves or garages may require phased visits over several weeks.
Can a home organiser help when I’ve just moved to Lisbon?
Absolutely. Organisers can unpack, plan room layouts, set up wardrobes, kitchens and home offices, and label systems so everyone can find things. They can also advise on where to shop locally for storage, schedule deliveries, and prioritise tasks to get you settled quickly.
Are virtual or hybrid organising services available in Lisbon?
Yes. Many professionals offer video consultations for planning, shopping lists and accountability check‑ins, combined with occasional on‑site sessions for hands‑on work. Virtual support suits tidy‑ups and smaller spaces, though heavy decluttering and furniture assembly are best handled in person, on‑site.
Will a home organiser handle donations and recycling in Lisbon?
Most organisers will guide you through donating, selling or recycling items and can recommend local charities or municipal ecocentros. Clarify whether they arrange drop‑offs or collections, and if extra time or transport costs apply. For sensitive documents or electronics, ask about secure disposal options.
How should I prepare for my first session with a Lisbon home organiser?
Define priorities, budget and timelines, and gather any floor plans or photos. Avoid buying storage in advance; the right measurements come after editing. Ensure access and parking, set aside donation boxes, and decide who must be present so decisions can be made quickly.
What’s the difference between a home organiser and a cleaning service?
A home organiser designs systems, declutters and optimises space so belongings are easy to find and maintain. Cleaners focus on hygiene: dusting, mopping and sanitising. The services complement each other, and many Lisbon residents book cleaning immediately after organising to lock in the fresh start.
Choosing the right home organizer is pivotal for transforming your living space into a sanctuary of order and efficiency. By adhering to these carefully curated dos and don’ts, you can navigate the selection process with confidence and ensure that you partner with someone who truly understands your unique needs. The right organizer will not only help you declutter but will also provide ongoing support, making your home a place where you feel comfortable and in control. Remember, it's about finding a professional who values your vision and fosters an environment of communication and trust, paving the way for lasting organization and peace of mind.
Dos and Don’ts as an expat
Smart choices: dos and don’ts when hiring a home organizer
Do’s
Do Find an Organizer Who Offers Personalized Solutions
Select a home organizer who takes the time to understand your lifestyle and specific needs. A personalized approach ensures that the solutions provided are practical and suited to how you use your space, leading to lasting organization.
Do Look for Excellent Communication Skills
Choose an organizer who communicates effectively and is responsive throughout the process. Active communication can enhance the experience and ensure that your preferences and concerns are addressed promptly.
Do Consider Their Availability for Follow-Up Support
Opt for a home organizer who offers follow-up assistance or advice after the project is completed. This ongoing support can be invaluable in maintaining organization over time and addressing any challenges that arise.
Do Seek Recommendations and Read Reviews
Investigate reviews and seek recommendations before hiring an organizer. Positive feedback from previous clients, especially regarding the organizer’s skills and professionalism, can guide you to make a more informed choice.
Dont’s
Don't Hire Without Verifying Communication Methods
Ensure that the organizer you choose can effectively communicate through your preferred methods, whether in-person, video calls, or messaging apps. Poor communication can hinder the process and affect the overall organization strategy.
Don't Neglect to Discuss Personalized Solutions
Avoid organizers who offer one-size-fits-all solutions without considering your unique needs and lifestyle. Personalized approaches are essential for effective organization, so ensure your service provider is willing to tailor their methods to your specific situation.
Don't Ignore the Importance of Comfort in Your Space
Be cautious of organizers who do not prioritize creating a comfortable environment during the process. It's crucial to feel at ease when allowing someone to enter your personal space, as this can significantly impact the effectiveness of the organizing process.
Don't Forget to Check Availability for Follow-Up Support
Before hiring an organizer, clarify their availability for follow-up support after the initial organizing session. Ongoing advice can help maintain order and address any new challenges that arise, making it a critical factor in your decision-making.
