I had Fernando handle my pool set up and maintenance in Alcácer do Sal. He was very responsive, very punctual, explained everything clearly, and completed the job to a high standard. He arrived early, was respectful and warm, and finished the work fully when others I contacted never responded. I would highly recommend him.

I had Miguel install a heat pump for my pool. He was very punctual the two times he had to come - first to do the budget and he was very well prepared, and then the job was done quickly in two days. His team did the installation, they had to go through pipes in several places, and he came the last day to see how everything had been. Everything was perfect, very well installed and working without problems, and the price felt ok and fair.

Lisbon, Sep 2026
We really appreciated Vânia's clear and proactive communication and the level of cleaning was excellent. We were especially happy with the quality of the window cleaning. She organised a pre-visit and we established clear working conditions before she started, which made everything smooth, though the price felt a bit high.

Dos and Don’ts as an expat
Smart choices: dos and don’ts for selecting the right swimming pool maintenance service
Do’s
Do Verify Their Experience with Pool Types
Select a service provider who has ample experience maintaining your specific type of pool, whether it be above-ground, in-ground, or a unique design. This ensures they are familiar with the maintenance requirements and potential issues that can arise, leading to a higher quality service.
Do Check for Customer Reviews and References
Before hiring, look for providers with positive customer reviews and willing to share references. Authentic feedback from past clients helps gauge reliability and service quality, ensuring you choose a provider known for effective and satisfactory pool maintenance.
Do Inquire About Their Maintenance Schedule Options
Ask potential service providers about their available maintenance schedule options, including frequency and flexibility. A reliable provider should offer tailored maintenance plans that align with your needs, helping to keep your pool in optimal condition year-round.
Do Request a Detailed Service Plan
Choose a pool maintenance provider who is ready to provide a detailed service plan outlining their approach to upkeep. This should include cleaning, chemical balancing, and any additional services, ensuring transparency and allowing you to anticipate and understand the level of care your pool will receive.
Dont’s
Don't Ignore Verification of Credentials
Always verify the credentials and certifications of any swimming pool maintenance service provider. Failing to do so can lead to hiring inexperienced technicians who may not follow proper safety protocols or industry standards, potentially jeopardizing the safety of your pool.
Don't Overlook References and Reviews
Never hire a service provider without checking their references or customer reviews. Ignoring this step can result in contracting a company that has a history of poor service quality, unfulfilled promises, or ongoing issues that could have been avoided with proper research.
Don't Accept Vague Proposals
Be cautious of service providers who present vague or ambiguous proposals. Clear and detailed service agreements are essential to understanding what services are included, preventing unexpected charges or gaps in service that could affect your pool's maintenance.
Don't Forget to Inquire About Insurance
Ensure that the service provider has appropriate insurance coverage. Hiring a company without liability insurance can expose you to significant risks if accidents or damages occur during maintenance, leaving you liable for repair costs.
