David has been my go-to for 14 years for anything my mind, body, and soul need. His therapy sessions, which blend various techniques including crystals, always leave me feeling peaceful and lighter. The atmosphere in his studio is calming and zen, making it easy to relax and find inner peace.

Octavia supported me with preparation and rehabilitation for a hip replacement operation, and I used her services for three months. I really liked her approach because it suited me perfectly, she did a really good assessment of my strength, weakness and surgery, looked at all the x rays, medical history and surgeon's notes, and then built a program that worked really well for me. In the beginning I had zero mobility, but she had me doing really small movements, helped me feel more confident, checked in, made adjustments, and also gave me guidance on how to sleep, stand and what to eat. I found her very knowledgeable, very skillful and very professional, and now I am at full mobility with no problems, the price was a bit more than I expected but overall it was fantastic.

I did sound healing with Lilly two times, laying down while she played singing bowls on my body, guided me with meditation prompts, and sometimes included Reiki. The first time I was so tired that after 15 or 20 minutes I fell asleep, and the second time I was more aware and could really feel all the vibrations and even get nice visuals, especially when she put the bowls on my head. After the session, we had a tea and reflected about how I feel, and she also gave me a really nice reflection activity to do before sleep. I felt really great both times, it is such a unique experience, and it feels like she really loves what she is doing and takes care of so many details.

Frequently Asked Questions

What expats want to know before hiring wellness studios & practitioners in Lisbon.

Are there English-speaking wellness studios & practitioners in Lisbon?
Yes, and more do as the expat community grows. The hard part is knowing who is reliable before you book, so every one we list is reviewed by other expats who have actually used them.
What should I check before hiring wellness studios & practitioners in Lisbon?
Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and an estimate in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check they hold the right credentials for the job.
What is the most important thing to know before booking?
Be clear about what you want and get the price and scope agreed up front, so there are no surprises. Reading other expats' reviews is the quickest way to find someone who does the job well and communicates clearly.
What should I avoid when hiring wellness studios & practitioners in Lisbon?
Avoid paying the full amount up front (a deposit can be fair), anyone who will not give a clear quote, and unusually cheap prices that get padded with extras later.
How do I explain what I need if my Portuguese is limited?
A photo, a short video or a written list does most of the talking, and the professionals we list are used to international clients. Booking an English-speaking one takes the stress out of it entirely.
How do you say wellness studios & practitioners in Portuguese?
In Portuguese, wellness studios & practitioners are usually called estudios de bem-estar. That is the word to search for or to ask a neighbour, though many professionals here are used to the English term too.
How do I find wellness studios & practitioners I can trust in Lisbon?
Check the reviews and any credentials before you book. On Locallista the reviews are phone-verified and the ranking is based on real expat experience, not who paid the most.

Dos and Don’ts as an expat

Smart choices: dos and don’ts for selecting the perfect wellness studio and practitioner

Do’s
Do Seek High-Quality Facilities
Look for wellness studios that boast well-maintained and high-quality facilities, as these can significantly enhance your overall experience. Enjoying clean and modern environments contributes to a more pleasant atmosphere for workouts and relaxation.
Do Explore Diverse Class Offerings
Prioritize wellness providers that offer a wide range of classes beyond standard options. Finding a studio that includes unique offerings like movement classes, yoga, and reformer sessions can provide a more fulfilling and varied fitness experience.
Do Consider Customer Service and Staff Attitude
Choose wellness studios where the staff is known for being friendly and attentive. Positive interactions with instructors can make your visits enjoyable, encouraging you to return frequently and feel valued as a customer.
Do Check for Ease of Booking
Look for wellness studios that provide an easy-to-navigate booking system online. Simplified scheduling can save you time and enhance your overall experience, allowing you to focus more on your wellness journey.
Dont’s
Don't Assume All Studios Have High-Quality Facilities
Not all wellness studios maintain the same high standards for their facilities. Before committing, ensure the locations you are considering have clean, modern equipment and well-maintained spaces to ensure a safe and pleasant experience.
Don't Ignore Class Variety and Specialization
Choosing a wellness studio without reviewing their class offerings could lead to disappointment. Ensure they provide a diverse selection of classes suited to your needs, particularly if you’re looking for specialized options like yoga, movement, or therapy sessions.
Don't Overlook Staff Attitude and Support
The demeanor and support of the instructors can significantly impact your experience. Research reviews for feedback on staff interactions to avoid places where instructors may not be attentive or encouraging, which can affect your motivation and enjoyment.
Don't Forget to Check Booking Flexibility
Studios with rigid booking systems can be frustrating. Make sure to select a provider that offers easy booking and cancellation options, as this will allow you to adjust your schedule without unnecessary hassle or charges.
