I used Offer for an airport transfer from the airport to Barcelona. It was a good experience - communication was great, and he was punctual and courteous. The price felt fair. I would recommend him as a driver.

Gerard

Rafael handles our ground transfers for international artists we bring every weekend. I send him the flights, hotel and club info, he schedules everything and shares the final driver’s number so I can pass it to the artist. The driver waits at the arrival zone with a sign, then we usually do four rides per artist - airport to hotel, hotel to the club, back to the hotel, and finally to the airport. He always answers so fast and the service is great.

I used Offer Transfer for an airport pickup and drop-off and it was great, actually awesome. The ride was very smooth, the driver was friendly, and the car was clean. They were on time, which was the most important thing for me. The price felt fair enough.

Frequently Asked Questions

What expats want to know before hiring drivers in Barcelona.

Yes, and more do as the expat community grows. The hard part is knowing who is reliable before you book, so every one we list is reviewed by other expats who have actually used them.
What should I check before hiring drivers in Barcelona?
Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and an estimate in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check they hold the right credentials for the job.
What is the most important thing to know before booking?
Be clear about what you want and get the price and scope agreed up front, so there are no surprises. Reading other expats' reviews is the quickest way to find someone who does the job well and communicates clearly.
What should I avoid when hiring drivers in Barcelona?
Avoid paying the full amount up front (a deposit can be fair), anyone who will not give a clear quote, and unusually cheap prices that get padded with extras later.
How do I explain what I need if my Spanish is limited?
A photo, a short video or a written list does most of the talking, and the professionals we list are used to international clients. Booking an English-speaking one takes the stress out of it entirely.
How do you say drivers in Spanish?
In Spanish, drivers are usually called choferes privados. That is the word to search for or to ask a neighbour, though many professionals here are used to the English term too.

Dos and Don’ts as an expat

Smart choices: dos and don’ts for hiring a reliable driver service

Do’s
Do Prioritize Punctuality
Choose a driver service that consistently emphasizes punctuality. Drivers should arrive early for pickups, ensuring that your schedule won't be disrupted. Reliable timekeeping is a crucial factor that contributes to a smooth travel experience and alleviates stress.
Do Look for Clean and Well-Maintained Vehicles
Select a service provider known for maintaining their vehicles in impeccable condition. Clean and well-maintained cars not only enhance comfort during your ride but also reflect the professionalism of the service and the care they put into customer satisfaction.
Do Ensure Drivers Have Good Local Knowledge
Opt for drivers who are knowledgeable about the local area. A good driver should be able to navigate efficiently, recommend intriguing places to visit or dine, and provide insights that enhance your travel experience, making your journey more enjoyable.
Do Seek Friendly and Professional Service
Choose a provider that highlights the friendliness and professionalism of their drivers. A personable, approachable driver can significantly improve your experience, making you feel comfortable and valued throughout your trip.
Dont’s
Don't Hire Drivers Without Verified References
Always ensure your driver has verified references or recommendations from previous clients. Unverified drivers may lack the professionalism and reliability that can impact your travel experience negatively, leading to potential delays or uncomfortable journeys.
Don't Neglect to Confirm Vehicle Details
Before booking, always confirm the vehicle's make and model along with its cleanliness. A lack of transparency regarding vehicle details can lead to surprises upon arrival, which might impact comfort and safety during your ride.
Don't Assume All Drivers Are Proficient in English
Do not assume that all drivers will have strong communication skills in English or your preferred language. Language barriers can lead to misunderstandings and frustration, potentially affecting your travel experience significantly.
Don't Ignore Driver Punctuality
Never overlook the importance of punctuality in a driver. A late driver can disrupt your plans significantly, especially for airport transfers or scheduled tours. Always seek reviews that confirm timely arrival to ensure your travel itinerary remains intact.
