I’ve done lots of courses with Julie over the years, in studios, a whole morning session, beach yoga, and online as well. It’s all lovely, very relaxing and very gentle, and she gives a lovely, caring, calm energy. The yoga work is very gentle, but little by little you end up getting deeply into different postures and suddenly think, oh goodness, look where I am now. I’ve recommended her in the past and I would definitely do so again.

Johanna

Barcelona on Aug 2025

I hired Stephanie as my doula for the birth of my daughter after a reference from another doula, and it was great. She was very professional and very personalized, asked a lot, and was there for me personally, even available on WhatsApp, with emotional support that really helped. The resources she shared were scientifically evidence-based, and my husband was extremely happy she was there with us during the birth. The price felt fair and I would use her again.

Erika

Sant Cugat del Vallès on Jun 2026

I moved to Spain not speaking Spanish, I had a high risk pregnancy after a traumatic C section, and Anna was so sweet, humble, and really focused on my needs. She helped with translation, paperwork, finding the right hospital, and during the birth she tracked my contractions, talked to the doctors in Catalan, and just had my back so I could focus on giving birth. She even drove me to the hospital and was thoughtful about every little thing, and honestly the price felt too cheap for how much work she put in. I am forever grateful because she made a lasting impact on my life and helped me bring my third baby into the world.

Dos and Don’ts as an expat

Smart choices: dos and don’ts for selecting the ideal perinatal support

Do’s
Do Seek Personalized Support
Choose a perinatal support provider who tailors their services to your unique needs and personality. This individualized approach ensures you receive compassionate care that resonates with you, enhancing your overall experience during pregnancy and postpartum.
Do Verify Availability and Responsiveness
Select a service provider who demonstrates a strong commitment to being available when you need them. Look for those who offer ongoing support even after sessions, ensuring you always have guidance and assistance during your perinatal journey.
Do Look for Evidence of Professionalism and Expertise
Prioritize hiring a perinatal support professional with a proven track record of reliability and expertise. Seek reviews that highlight their ability to navigate local procedures and provide invaluable resources regarding childbirth and postpartum care.
Do Consider Their Approach to Family Support
Choose a service provider who emphasizes holistic family support. Look for testimonials that mention how they engage with partners and siblings, ensuring that the whole family feels included and cared for during the transition into parenthood.
Dont’s
Don't Ignore Availability and Responsiveness
Choosing a service provider who lacks clear availability can lead to feeling unsupported during crucial times. Look for someone who has a proven track record of being easily reachable and responsive, especially during stressful events like childbirth and postpartum.
Don't Settle for Generic Support
Opting for providers who offer one-size-fits-all services may not meet your specific needs or preferences. Seek professionals who emphasize personalized care and have experience tailoring their approach to individual families’ experiences and dynamics.
Don't Overlook Experience with Specific Challenges
Selecting a perinatal support provider without relevant experience can leave you ill-prepared for unique challenges such as postpartum recovery, premature births, or complications like C-sections. Prioritize professionals with a strong background in diverse perinatal situations.
Don't Disregard Educational Resources
Choosing a provider who doesn't offer educational resources or tools can limit your preparedness for childbirth and parenting. Ensure that the professional you hire provides valuable supplementary information that can enhance your journey and confidence.
