Lourdes

Barcelona, Jan 2026

I have been going to the clinic for about 8 years, mostly for orthodontics, and I also did some aesthetics. I did the water thing for cleaning the face and it was really good. They always message me on WhatsApp or email, they are very respectful, and appointments are on time. Prices are not cheap but felt the same as other places, and with my orthodontist I could pay in parts, which was really good; orthodontics has pain, but it is what it is.

Barcelona, Nov 2025

I’ve been going to Jordi for about five years and they always treat me very well in English and Spanish. Yesterday they rechecked my sight and helped me change the lenses for my glasses - I use ones to see close and far and they are photochromatic - and they gave me the best options and I left very happy. Prices are not cheap, more like paying for design and quality, and they usually point me to the one in the middle that works for me. Once I dropped my glasses from the motorcycle and they sorted a new pair through the insurance so it was much cheaper, and they are always very attentive, even saving me a small bag of sweets.

Barcelona, Jan 2026

I was very well attended at Turo Park Clinics. It’s one of the few centers that is always available, even on weekends, and being international mattered to me because I could be attended in my official language. They adapted to my schedule without any waiting and I was immediately granted access, the follow-up was very nice and honestly it was a lifesaver. The price felt very correct for me and overall it was really fantastic.

Dos and Don’ts as an expat

Essential dos and don’ts for selecting a trusted eye care specialist

Do’s
Do Seek Personalized Care
Choose an eye care specialist who offers personalized service, taking the time to understand your individual eye concerns and needs. Look for reviews that highlight thorough consultations and tailored advice, ensuring that you receive care that is relevant and specific to your situation.
Do Check for Modern Equipment
Ensure your eye care provider uses up-to-date technology and equipment for assessments. High-quality tools can enhance the accuracy of eye exams and enable personalized treatment plans, contributing to a better overall experience and confidence in the care provided.
Do Look for Follow-Up Support
Select a specialist who values post-appointment follow-up and support. Reviews emphasizing follow-up communications, whether through phone calls or digital messaging, indicate a commitment to your ongoing care and satisfaction, which is crucial for successful treatment.
Do Consider Expertise in Specialty Areas
When choosing an eye care provider, look for expertise in specific areas such as ortho-k lenses or pediatric eye care. Ensuring your provider has a solid background and knowledge in the specialty you require can lead to better diagnosis and treatment outcomes.
Dont’s
Don't Ignore Follow-Up Care
Choosing a service provider who does not follow up after appointments could leave critical questions unanswered. Ensure that your eye care specialist is committed to ongoing communication and support, as this is vital for effective treatment and peace of mind.
Don't Underestimate Equipment Quality
Opt for eye care specialists who utilize modern, high-quality equipment for assessments. Poor equipment could lead to inaccurate diagnoses or ineffective treatment. It's essential to feel confident in the technology used during your eye consultations.
Don't Settle for Generic Advice
Avoid eye care providers who offer one-size-fits-all solutions. Personalized assessments and tailored recommendations based on your specific conditions and concerns are crucial for achieving optimal eye health outcomes.
Don't Overlook Communication Style
Prioritize eye care specialists who communicate clearly and make you feel comfortable asking questions. Providers that lack effective communication may not adequately address your concerns or explain treatment options, leading to confusion and dissatisfaction.
