Cristina helped us to buy an apartment in Barcelona. She was with us during the visits, handled the negotiations with the owner, and took care of all the bureaucracy with the notary and the offices. Communication was mostly on WhatsApp or calls, even late, and she was always very available, very professional and capable, with a lot of empathy especially with my wife. I don’t have many comparisons on price but it felt normal, and overall the experience was very positive and comfortable.

I worked with Cristina as an architect to redesign my pool area. She speaks very good English, is fun and easy to talk to, and she gave us some really good ideas while co-creating the design with me. She was a good go-between with the workers and communicated changes, though the project wasn’t done on time and a few things had to be fixed after because they weren’t checked right away, which is where there’s room for improvement in managing the workers. Price felt fair and reasonable with what we agreed on, with no added costs.

I met Cristina after a workshop I was publishing, we started talking and she was really nice so I wanted to work with her. She consulted me as an architect for decorating my house, has very clear ideas, is easy to talk to, and explains things very well, and I was happy with the final design. She was on time, reliable, open and honest, and we used lots of plants which I love. The price felt reasonable - not cheap but okay for what I needed.

Smart choices: dos and don’ts when hiring a real estate appraiser

Do’s
Do Verify Credentials and Experience
When selecting a real estate appraiser, ensure they hold the necessary certifications and licenses. Look for professionals with extensive experience in appraising properties similar to yours to guarantee accuracy and reliability in their assessments.
Do Read Client Testimonials
Seek out and read reviews and testimonials from previous clients. This will help you gauge the quality of service provided by the appraiser, including their professionalism, punctuality, and effectiveness in delivering accurate assessments.
Do Inquire About Their Methodology
Ask appraisers about their approaches to valuation and the tools they utilize. A knowledgeable appraiser will be able to explain their methodology clearly, providing you with confidence in their ability to provide a thorough and reliable property assessment.
Do Request Detailed Reports
Ensure that the appraiser provides a comprehensive report with detailed explanations of their findings and conclusions. A well-articulated report adds credibility to their work and helps you understand the basis for the property's valuation.
Dont’s
Don't Hire Without Checking Credentials
Many customers experienced significant issues due to appraisers lacking proper certification or experience in specific property types. Always verify that the appraiser is licensed and experienced in your property’s category before making a decision.
Don't Ignore Reviews and References
Several clients faced disappointing outcomes because they did not check reviews or request references. Always seek out reviews from previous clients and ask for references to ensure that the appraiser has a track record of reliable and quality assessments.
Don't Rush the Selection Process
Taking the time to select the right real estate appraiser is crucial. Many have regretted decisions made hastily, leading to underqualified appraisers. Invest time in researching and comparing potential candidates to ensure a thorough evaluation.
Don't Accept Unclear Pricing Structures
Customers reported frustration with unexpected fees and unclear pricing. Ensure that any appraiser you consider provides a transparent, detailed pricing structure upfront, avoiding any confusion or surprises in billing later on.
