I’ve been going to Susana’s institute for more than 5 years for skin care and her anti-inflammatory treatment for cellulite. She uses quality products like Biology and a high-tech device, the place is clean and well-maintained, and it’s always a relaxing moment for me. She gives a lot of attention, speaks French and English, and the results are there after each session. The price is a bit expensive, but it makes sense with the high-quality products she uses.

I found Sophie when I was looking for definitive laser hair removal, and I wanted someone who speaks French, so I went for a first time and was very much advised. I continued all my laser hair removal there, which I still continue now, and I also do face care and body modeling, so it is really my esthetic salon. I go there very often and I am very satisfied with Sophie's services, frankly I am a loyal customer. The salon is very clean, well maintained, and I take my appointments online very easily.

Everything was great and very fast from the first appointment to the first visit. I had a removal yesterday and I’m still in the healing process with a little bit of pain, but they explained the procedure, gave me the medicines and an after-surgery checklist, and everything felt well done. I went on a Sunday and there were a lot of people and emergencies, so I waited around 35-40 minutes, and I also needed a 3D scan because my nerves were close to the teeth, with a follow up likely. The clinic is really clean and organized, the staff are really good, and the price felt normal for this kind of service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What expats want to know before hiring cosmeticians in Barcelona.

Are there English-speaking cosmeticians in Barcelona?
Yes, and more do as the expat community grows. The hard part is knowing who is reliable before you book, so every one we list is reviewed by other expats who have actually used them.
What should I check before hiring cosmeticians in Barcelona?
Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and an estimate in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check they hold the right credentials for the job.
What is the most important thing to know before booking?
Be clear about what you want and get the price and scope agreed up front, so there are no surprises. Reading other expats' reviews is the quickest way to find someone who does the job well and communicates clearly.
What should I avoid when hiring cosmeticians in Barcelona?
Avoid paying the full amount up front (a deposit can be fair), anyone who will not give a clear quote, and unusually cheap prices that get padded with extras later.
How do I explain what I need if my Spanish is limited?
A photo, a short video or a written list does most of the talking, and the professionals we list are used to international clients. Booking an English-speaking one takes the stress out of it entirely.
How do you say cosmeticians in Spanish?
In Spanish, cosmeticians are usually called esteticistas. That is the word to search for or to ask a neighbour, though many professionals here are used to the English term too.
How do I find cosmeticians I can trust in Barcelona?
Check the reviews and any credentials before you book. On Locallista the reviews are phone-verified and the ranking is based on real expat experience, not who paid the most.

Dos and Don’ts as an expat

Essential dos and don’ts for selecting the ideal cosmetician for your beauty needs

Do’s
Do Prioritize Cleanliness in the Clinic
Select a cosmetician whose clinic maintains impeccable cleanliness and hygiene standards. A spotless environment not only enhances your experience but also ensures safe treatments, giving you peace of mind about your health and well-being.
Do Seek Personalized Treatment Plans
Look for a cosmetician who provides tailored treatment plans based on your specific skin needs and goals. Personalization in consultations ensures that the services you receive are aligned with your unique requirements, maximizing the effectiveness of your treatments.
Do Check for Strong Communication Skills
Choose a cosmetician who exhibits excellent communication skills, ensuring that they can clearly explain procedures, products, and any changes during treatments. Understanding what to expect creates a more comfortable and informed experience for clients.
Do Identify Professionals Who Use Quality Products
Select a cosmetician who emphasizes the use of high-quality products during treatments. Quality products not only enhance the effectiveness of the services but also ensure that your skin receives the best care possible, leading to visible results.
Do Book Appointments Well in Advance
If you find a cosmetician you trust, plan to schedule your appointments at least two weeks ahead. Popular professionals tend to have busy schedules, and early bookings guarantee you secure your preferred time without complications.
Dont’s
Don't Underestimate the Importance of Cleanliness
A clean and organized environment is crucial when selecting a cosmetician. Many reviews emphasize how cleanliness contributes to client comfort and trust. Avoid providers whose cleanliness standards aren't consistently highlighted, as this could indicate negligence or poor practices.
Don't Ignore the Need for Advance Booking
Many satisfied customers noted that the best cosmeticians are often in high demand. Failing to book appointments well in advance can result in missed opportunities for quality service. Ensure you schedule your appointments at least two weeks ahead to secure time with your preferred provider.
Don't Choose a Provider Who Doesn't Tailor Services to You
Personalized treatment is a key theme among highly rated cosmeticians. Avoid providers who offer one-size-fits-all solutions or are not attentive to your specific skincare needs and goals. Look for those who take the time to understand your individual concerns.
Don't Settle for Poor Communication
Effective communication is essential to a satisfying experience with a cosmetician. If reviews indicate unclear explanations or inconsistent messaging regarding treatments and products, it’s best to look for someone who prioritizes clarity and transparency in their services.
