I enrolled my child in this city nursery and it was great - we had really good follow-up and the whole teaching team was at their best. Damaris was my child’s teacher and she was extraordinary, a real stroke of luck for us, and the day ran smoothly from 8:30 to 5 with activities and care all day. I’m not going to talk about the infrastructures, but I will say the meals were varied and honestly that was the dark part - the year they switched to a company catering I didn’t like it at all. The price has increased since then and I know a lot of people are less happy, but overall we were very happy.

I went with friends, we actually went twice, and it was very fun for a small group. We tried different experiences - one with a little bit of fear, one of the outdoor spaces of the sea, and another like a medieval castle - and it was great because you can move around the room and see the others for team building. The place was clean and well maintained, with a ramp and wide doors, and Xavi, the head of the team, taught us a lot - it’s the details that make the experience. Price felt fair and I would recommend it and go back.

I needed a kindergarten when we moved here and this was perfect: each class has two teachers, one in English and one in Catalan. We got feedback through WhatsApp every midday back then, now it’s in another app, and every afternoon we could talk to the teacher for 5 minutes, so communication felt really good. They did monthly projects, the 2-3 years old kids went to the library every month to pick up books and share them, and there were lots of outings in the last year. They even helped us with baby-led weaning, they are very professional, and the price felt fair for having two teachers per class.

Read recent reviews, be clear about exactly what you need, and agree the scope and an estimate in writing before any work starts. For anything regulated, check they hold the right credentials for the job.
What is the most important thing to know before booking?

Dos and Don’ts as an expat

Smart choices: dos and don’ts for planning unforgettable kids' birthdays

Do’s
Do Choose Caterers Who Provide Healthy Options
Select a catering service that specializes in healthy, appealing food options for children. Look for providers who focus on incorporating fresh, locally sourced ingredients and can accommodate dietary restrictions, ensuring a nutritious experience for the kids.
Do Look for Exceptional Service and Attention to Detail
Opt for service providers who are known for their exceptional attention to detail and organization. Ensure they can handle logistics such as setup, decoration, and cleanup efficiently, allowing you to focus on enjoying the event without added stress.
Do Seek Recommendations for Engaging Activities
Select experiences that offer engaging and creative activities for children, enhancing their enjoyment during the event. Look for reviews mentioning engaging staff and innovative activities that spark kids' interest and keep them entertained.
Do Consider the Overall Atmosphere and Experience
Choose venues that provide a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for both children and parents. A pleasant environment can make a significant difference in the overall enjoyment, creating memorable moments for your kids’ birthday celebrations.
Dont’s
Don't Neglect Menu Variety and Dietary Needs
When hiring a caterer for kids' birthdays, ensure they offer a diverse menu that caters to various dietary restrictions. Lack of options can be disappointing, especially if they do not accommodate allergies or specific preferences, leaving children unsatisfied.
Don't Settle for Unprofessional Setup and Cleanup
Avoid providers who do not guarantee timely setup and cleanup. An unorganized approach can dampen the party atmosphere and add unnecessary stress to your event, making it essential to choose those known for their efficiency and professionalism throughout the process.
Don't Ignore Presentation and Engagement
Select service providers that prioritize engaging and visually appealing presentations, especially for kids. A lack of creativity in decor or food can detract from the overall experience. Make sure to confirm that they have a flair for making events fun and colorful.
Don't Overlook the Importance of Feedback on Popularity of Foods
Pay attention to reviews regarding food preferences among children. Choosing foods that are overly healthy may lead to less enthusiasm from kids, which can impact their joy at the party. Ensure your caterer balances nutritious options with kid-friendly flavors.
